What is Perlast®?

Perlast® is designated as a FFKM (a perfluoro rubber of polymethylene type, generically known as a perfluoroelastomer) by ASTM International ( an international standards organization originally known as the American Society for Testing and Materials ).

FFKMs are superior to all other elastomer (rubber) types including FKM. Of all the 16 different types of elastomer, perfluoroelastomers provide the highest level of thermal and chemical resistance, making them ideal for use in the most demanding sealing applications.

Perfluoroelastomers are characterized as having the chemical and thermal resistance of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) combined with the elastomeric properties of FKM (fluorocarbon).
