Designing with Perlast® materials
Squeeze
Long term compression set testing performed by Perlast on O-rings repeatedly heated and cooled whilst installed has identified the optimal initial squeeze conditions shown opposite. |

Thermal Expansion
The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) is the change in volume per unit of material for a one degree Centigrade change in temperature. CTE must be considered when calculating gland fill in fully constrained grooves. It is important to ensure that gland volume fill remains below 100%. |
The above tests were performed over a range of 15°C to 200°C. |
Permeability
Perlast's wholly organic materials are far more compliant than traditional elastomer materials. This leads to more effective sealing against mating surfaces and reduced leakage. |
